POSITION SUMMARY
Flourish Agenda is at an exciting and critical organizational inflection point. Demand for our services continues to outpace our capacity despite our continued growth. Our services have evolved from one-time small-batch training to multi-year engagements at a municipal level with hundreds and even thousands of participants. The stakes are high, and we need someone to lead our program and services teams through our next phase of growth.  

Reporting to the Chief Strategy and Development Officer, the Vice President of Programs and Services role provides an extraordinary opportunity for a talented leader to shape and develop solutions and work with a passionate and committed team in an organization with a drive for innovation and quality, a dedicated Board of Directors, and a trajectory of strategic growth. They will provide skilled leadership for Flourish Agenda’s innovative, growing, and evolving service programs. This individual will also oversee product development efforts, continuously positioning a premier provider of mental health training services.  

The Vice President of Programs and Services will articulate and implement strategic program development, evaluation and data-driven decision-making, talent development, and external relationship building. In partnership with the Executive Leadership team, the Vice President of Programs and Services will help ensure that Flourish Agenda is positioned to respond to new and strategic opportunities to help individuals, families, and communities of color Flourish through groundbreaking and high-quality services.  

This role will provide strategic leadership and oversight for the organization’s program portfolio. They will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive services portfolio which currently includes: 1) Keynote Speeches, 2) Healing Centered Engagement (HCE) Certification Trainings, 3) HCE Creative Labs Programs (ongoing technical assistance), 4) Camp Akili Training, 5) Evaluation Research and Impact. The VP of Programs and Services will also engage with the Board of Directors under the CEO's direction. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Leadership, Staff Management, and Organizational Strategy 
  • Create and support a high-performance culture in the program department that is aligned with Flourish Agenda’s values. 
  • Directly supervise three Directors as part of the overall management of the organization’s programs and services, creating an environment of transparency, collaboration, and efficient execution. 
  • Establish annual program and departmental goals and objectives, track results against these goals, and establish accountability protocols. 
  • In partnership with the Chief Strategy and Development Officer, implement Flourish Agenda’s strategic plan as it relates to the program and develop and implement new initiatives that reflect the organization’s mission. 
  • In partnership with the Executive Team, play a key role in the organization's strategic planning, development, and implementation of the plan, service delivery, and deliverables management across multiple departments. 
  • Develop an accountable team-based environment to motivate and inspire staff to work collaboratively toward vision and goals and implement yearly staff development plans and mentoring.  
  • Lead project-based budget development in coordination with the CFO, and monitor adherence to project budgets on a day-to-day basis.  
  • Build external relationships with key clients and partners to raise awareness of Flourish Agenda’s mission and ensure high-quality service delivery. 
  • Monitor emerging needs among key stakeholders such as clients, government, payers, philanthropy, community, and employees. 
 Program Design and Execution 
  • Design and execute comprehensive expansion strategies for new market launches in Philadelphia, Boston, and potentially future locations like Chicago and NYC. This includes collaborating with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful expansion.
  • Identify operational gaps and growth opportunities that will improve outcomes of services and motivate teams to develop and implement innovative solutions. 
  • Continuously monitor program effectiveness with our Evaluation, Research, and Impact team. Use these insights to improve and modify our services as needed, as well as recommend new offerings. 
  • Advance Flourish Agenda’s training program, research development, and implementation to ensure graduates’ career readiness. 
  • Hold teams to high standards of operational excellence, instructional and curriculum quality, and career outcomes by instituting industry best practices. 
  • Enhance operations processes and instructional quality and develop program solutions to resolve the above gaps and capture the above opportunities. 
  • Drive the development of cutting-edge curricula that meet evolving needs and ensure the highest quality standards or that curricula are designed to deliver measurable outcomes aligned with the organization’s overall goals.  
  • Collaborate with other executive team members to inform the development and execution of strategic and program plans aligned with the organization’s objectives. 
  • Lead in-house/outsourced training delivery strategy, including identifying and evaluating outsourced training partners. 
WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO HAS 
  • BA required, MA preferred in education, social work, or related discipline.  
  • Strong values and beliefs in social justice, equity, and belonging principles and     practices.  
  • 8+ years of experience leading education strategy for adult and young learners. 
  • 5+ years of experience managing and coaching a team of direct reports. 
  • 5+ years of experience managing multiple competing strategic priorities and projects.
  • Ability to work across teams and directly with stakeholders. 
  • Ability to manage stakeholder expectations and communicate priorities effectively.
  • Excellent Analytical Skills and strong attention to detail. 
  • Flexible and self-motivated with the ability to manage and implement multiple complex projects simultaneously.  
  • Knowledge and experience of early childhood, youth development, trauma-informed approaches, and social-emotional learning theory and best practices.  
  • Experience with Project Management, Time tracking, and Estimating software such as Asana.  
  • Solid knowledge of educational and social equity issues related to youth of color.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to think creatively and independently resolve conflicts and challenges.  
  • Self-directed and excited to work in a start-up-like environment.  
  • Passion for and commitment to Flourish Agenda’s mission, vision, and philosophy.  
JOB TYPE 
This is a full-time position. 

WORK HOURS/SCHEDULE 
​​​​​Traditional business hours, Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. The position requires occasional early morning, evening, and weekend hours and some travel. This is a hybrid position with time spent working remotely and in person.
